A trip to the Cradle of Humankind in Maropeng on the 10 March 2020 proved to be an educational experience, as learners embarked on journey going back millions of years.
A group of 95 Grade 7 learners were selected to go on the excursion. The day began with a tour of the Sterkfontein Caves followed by a boat ride through the formation of the earth. Learners then visited the Scientific Exhibition Centre where they got to learn more details about important finds such as “Mrs Ples”, the “Taung Child” and “Little Foot”, as well as information about fossilisation, palaeobotany and landscapes.
It was an incredibly unforgettable day.
